For me, Bornina Puss is two lovely dolls who proved to me that wishes can come true if you work hard enough. They are two dedicated bawsettes who don't let anything stop them. Year after year, I see BP grow stronger and improve their image, style, and work. They are both sweet and fierce; they are simply themselves, and they encourage women to do the same. As I have worked a couple times with them, I can assure everybody that they are true to what they show on social media. They are beyoutiful inside and out.

I wish that your passion keeps guiding you through this wonderful journey. I hope to see BP grow bigger and bigger because it's awesome. Bornina Puss for me is 3 things: The embodiment of female empowerment, inspiration and creativity.

Female empowerment because what they do is all about celebrating your inner goddess, being proud of who you are and let your inner light shine. It lets no one but you define what beauty is and their work lets your own (beauty) speak for itself. It is a mix of two souls that came together to share with us the passion they have to create designs that fit’s your personality. Every item is unique and has it’s own little voice that speak to us (the clients) in a different way that’s why I love the brand. One can choose to define/interpret each item and wear it as they please and making heads turn in the streets asking “Gurllll where did you get those”.  "I’m a scientist teacher in high school (I'm actually classless right now because to find a job as a scientist teacher is a pain in the ass, clearly should have been a French teacher or in kindergarten…). I dance when I have time, I’m the coolest aunty ever, I’m part of the NGO Afrikawaly (google us) and I’m one of the coordinator of Articien (google it too). I have a brand of t-shirt called “SHDC” which stands for “Short Hair Don’t Care”. I made them because I wanted women with short hair to feel pretty, feminine and good in their own skin! No offense to long hair women , I know y'all don’t care either and this is exactly the point: Hair is just hair and every women are beautiful either they have long hair or short hair... Besides seeing Kendrick Lamar on stage — I was so close so many times (laughs), my dream is to open an orphanage."

If there was a movie produced about your life, who would play you, and why? Traci Ellis Ross would play me… I think she’s as crazy as she’s smart (laughs). I love her acting, the faces that she can make… I do faces all the time too, so she’ll do great!!! And I love her ass so yeah, I give her the role!

How would you describe your fashion style? Euh… I’m not really the big fashion person I dress how I feel, most of the time I’m sexy (ahahah) but never trashy… If there is something noticeable about my style is that I wear a lot of crop tops!

What are you thankful for? I’m thankful for my family and my friends, they are my foundation, they keep my grounded and they always have my back!

Two things you could never leave home without. Earrings… I feel naked without them…And Vaseline to put on my lips (omg that sounds crazy (laughs) but I have a small jar of Vaseline in almost all my bags so that even if I change my bag, TAH DAH Vaseline is around… my lips dry fast…).

Tell us two things that make you smile. A child smiling… I die for children… I can’t deal, they make my heart melts and when my boo says he loves me (yes I’m a romantic :D)

Editor's Note | October Celebration, Introspection and Changes

A few weeks ago, a young woman published a world's map on Instagram and her caption said: "I came to a point in my life where I want to discover more about myself and more about the world I live in. The best way to do it is by travelling but I don't know which country I should go to. There are so many I want to visit. Can you help me?" 

A person replied: "Thailand" because that's where they wanted to go. Another person said: "Maybe you should be a flight attendant so you could travel for free and see all parts of the world", to which the young woman replied "I thought about it... but that's not the kind of travelling I want at the moment. It needs to be artistic and spiritual."  

I know it's just Instagram and you can't be too serious about shit but I felt the need to give her a peace-of-me: 
"Just put 'everywhere' on your list, and see what happens. Start from within. Then walk around, get lost in your own city for you haven't seen everything. And you'll realize that wherever you choose to go, you will discover something. About you, about the YOUniverse", to which she replied: "I love the way you think".

We all have an innate drive toward personal growth. The need for self-actualization is simply the need to fulfill one's potential. Self-actualizing persons are fun and fearless warriors and hunters. They are free from fears and inhibitions. They naturally accept themselves and so they naturally accept others. They have self-esteem and confidence. They learn how important it is to love themselves. Their dream is to F.L.Y. as in: First Love Yourself. 

Loving yourself has to do with your outlook on life. It's about having the confidence to get up when you fall and keep rising — in love. It's about staying hopeful and optimistic about the unseen path ahead. Transforming challenges into opportunities. Facing your inner demons and learning to trust yourself. 

According to ¹Abraham Maslow, self actualizers persons are people with exceptionally healthy personalities, marked by continued growth. Maslow found that self-actualizers are accurately tuned into reality and that they're at peace with themselves. He found that they're open and spontaneous and that they retain a fresh appreciation of the world around them. They also strike a nice balance between many polarities in personality; they can be both childlike and mature, both rational and intuitive, both conforming and rebellious. 

It takes strength and courage to look inward and take full responsibility for how you feel. Loving yourself is no sweet serenade but a daily experiment and challenge. We spend our life looking for that twin flame, that soul mate... never realizing that we actually lock eyes on the daily. Next time you stare right through your soul mate, let the reflection speak for the Mirror is a symbol of physical and spiritual reflection. 

Introspection is the examination of one's own conscious thoughts and feelings. In a spiritual context, it refers to the examination of one's soul. Changes. It all starts deep within.
